Bio: Mitch has suffered many familial losses starting at a very young age, including his father, his brother, his twin sister and his 2 nephews, his mother, his sister in law and the untimely death of his nine year old son to cancer in 1987. Throughout his life, Mitch has struggled with how grief is processed and perceived in this country. Mitch lectures and conducts workshops about the grief process and surviving the loss of a loved one across the nation at various venues including The Compassionate Friends and Bereaved Parents USA. Mitch is a highly sought after speaker, a trained hospice volunteer and has helped many loved ones and their families through the dying process. Mitch has published a book Letters To My Son, Turing Loss to Legacy. Since the death of His son, Mitch has dedicated his life to helping those individuals and families whom are trying to navigate in the uncharted territory of death, dying and the bereavement process. Through his compassionate insight and gentle spirit he will touch your heart and hopefully give you tools to aid you on your journey. Mitch is certified as a Grief Services Provider through the American Grief and an ordained minister. Mitch lives in rural Minnesota with his wife Barb of 40 years, he enjoys riding horses, gardening, writing, helping others, spending time with his grandchildren, giving blood monthly and creating works of art.
